Big, thick, and fluffy these Belgian Chocolate Waffles are a fantastic weekend breakfast to whip up with only pantry staple ingredients. With nice crisp outsides and tender chocolate insides, these homemade Belgian waffles are sure to be a hit.
Assorted toppings of choicepowdered sugar, strawberries, raspberries, bananas, whipped cream, ice cream, additional chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, etc.
Instructions
Preheat waffle maker.
Into a large bowl, whisk the biscuit mix to get rid of any lumps. Stir in sugar and cocoa powder. Add in water, eggs, oil, and vanilla; mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips until well combined.
1 ½ cups baking mix, 1 cup granulated white sugar, ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, ¾ cup water, 2 large eggs, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ cup chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Spray hot waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour batter into the waffle maker until the bottom plate is just barely covered completely (about ¾ cup). Cook for about 2 minutes or until firm.
Carefully remove waffle and serve with toppings if desired.
